Our Story: A Family Legacy Since 1976
Frame It / Waban Gallery began as a dream shared by two sisters, Anna and Lillian, who opened a do-it-yourself framing shop in 1976 in the heart of Waban, Newton, Massachusetts. What started as a small art supply and framing store has evolved into one of Greater Boston's most trusted destinations for custom framing, professional printing, artistic services, and digital archiving.
1976: The Beginning
Anna and Lillian establish U Frame It as a DIY framing and art supply store, empowering customers to learn about framing and with hands on with framing. Lillian moved on to pursue her own artwork after a few years and Anna continued the store with her children helping out.
The Evolution
Over the years as customer needs changed and opportunities arose, we evolved and transitioned away from do-it-yourself framing and art supplies to become Frame It Waban Gallery. We focus on offering exceptional custom framing services and artwork for any decor. Bringing decades of expertise to every project. Today the business is owned and operated by Anna's son, Kurt.
The Digital Revolution
As photography evolved from film to digital, we recognized there was a need for printing, photo lab services and art reproduction so we invested in state-of-the-art photo printing technology, launching WabanPhoto to provide complete photo services and digital archiving.
